Position: Graphic Designer (Short-Term Technical Assistance)
Official Work Station: Quezon City
Deadline of Application: February 24, 2024
About the Project
The Investing in Sustainability and Partnerships for Inclusive Growth and Regenerative Ecosystems or INSPIRE is a five-year grant facility of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), implemented by the Gerry Roxas Foundation. INSPIRE aims to advance natural resource resilience and security through the increased participation and engagement of civil society organizations (CSOs), local communities including indigenous peoples, academe, and media.
A key strategic approach employed by the INSPIRE Project is development and behavior change communications (BCC), and the sharing of relevant and relatable science-based information to inspire public conversations and collective actions for natural resource security and governance. In the interests of effective visual communication at the facility level, INSPIRE is seeking the expertise of a graphic designer who will be tasked with creating public-facing communications collaterals for targeted audiences.
Duration and Work Setup
The Graphic Designer will report to the INSPIRE Communications Specialist and will be engaged on a task or project basis, for a level of effort (person-days), within a span of seven months. This is a remote work set-up, with scheduled face-to-face meetings with the project team, as needed. Submission timeline will be on a per project basis, with calendared milestones.
Scope of Work
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Produce visual information media—in digital and/or print-ready formats—to support specific conservation advocacy and behavior change communications campaigns (e.g., digital content, infographics, posters, presentation materials, large-format print media, billboard ads), based on a specific task order, and following USAID INSPIRE branding and marking guidelines.
- Assist in developing a consistent visual design style via digital templates (e.g., graphic overlay for social media posts, presentation template, newsletter template, illustration and iconography, etc.) for INSPIRE.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Design, Visual Communication and Design, Art, Design, or Creative Multimedia/Multimedia Arts.
- Must have at least eight (8) years of professional graphic design and/or art director experience, with a creative portfolio attesting to this work.
- Skilled in using Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, and Microsoft 365 products, apps, and services, among other tools, to effectively communicate information through digital and/or print formats. Experience in web development and motion graphics a plus.
- Must have excellent project management skills. Able to provide creative direction and manage the design process from conceptualization to final production.
- Must have strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. Able to coordinate with technical specialists for content of products, and manage the workflow of projects to meet deadlines.
- Responsible for the basic hardware and software required to complete the projects.
